National Federation of Sea Anglers
UK Sea Angling and Sea Fishing
RECREATIONAL SEA ANGLING. Fishing in the sea is our oldest
pastime or sport; it is mentioned in the Bible and is depicted
in cave drawings going back thousands of years when fish were
part of the daily diet.
Sea
angling is good for your health, it is a sport for all seasons
and all age groups; it is enjoyed by children as well as men
and women of all ages, the able and disabled. It is a sport
that can be relaxed or competitive. It can cost just a few
pounds to buy a rod and reel to start, bait can be free if
you collect your own, and fishing is free from beaches and
rocks.
Join
the growing ranks of sea anglers and enjoy the tranquillity
of the out door life; get away from the maddening crowds and
enjoy the best nature can offer; the sea breaking gently on
the shore, the graceful gannets as they dive for mackerel
or the dancing terns dipping for small surface fish. It is
a sport to enjoy with others, or to fish alone. All this can
be enjoyed fishing from the shore or miles offshore from a
boat.
Sea fishing is a sport in which you set your own targets;
fish for pleasure, fish club or open matches or progress to
International status, the choice is yours. Sea fishing is
recognised by Sport England.
There is no compulsion to join a club, but it is beneficial,
if only to be covered by insurance, and you should be a personal
member of the Governing body, the National Federation of Sea
Anglers; all the information you need is on their web site
National
Federation of Sea Anglers. By joining, you can
help them protect the seas and the fish from exploitation.
Recreational Sea Angling is a sport
for everyone; enjoy it now.
