Istanbul qualifying
Rickard Rydell claimed his third pole position of the season.
SEAT Sport's Swedish driver clocked a time of 2:06.289 on
his first flying lap. Then he sat down in the pits, waiting
for the other competitors to improve. However the rain came
halfway through the session and spoiled any attempts. Alessandro
Zanardi who was fastest in both the morning practices, posted
the second best lap. Two other SEAT drivers, Gabriele Tarquini
and Yvan Muller will fill the second row of the grid. Current
championship leader Andy Priaulx qualified only 15th fastest.
The top 14 drivers were covered by only one second.
Luca Rangoni of Proteam Motorsport set the fastest lap in
the Independents' Trophy.
