Fuji International Speedway Announces Outline for Holding
2007 Japanese F1 Grand Prix
FUJI INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY CO., LTD. (Fuji Speedway: Hiroaki
Kato, President) announced today arrangements for the holding
of the 2007 FIA Formula One World Championship (F1) Fuji Television
Japanese Grand Prix.
Under the basic theme "Endless Beauty, Unlimited Excitement
- F1 Japanese Grand Prix at Fuji Speedway”, the event
will be organized according to three major policy guidelines:
1) providing services based on advanced safety and high quality,
2) offering a variety of ways to enjoy F1, and 3) contributing
to and encouraging participation by the local community.
As a racetrack venue boasting state-of-the-art facilities,
Fuji Speedway is committed to making sure the three-day 2007
FIA Formula One World Championship (F1) Fuji Television Japanese
Grand Prix is operated as safely as possible; it also intends
to create an environment for spectators of unparalleled comfort
and convenience. In addition, Fuji Speedway plans special
attractions to make the event enjoyable by as many people
as possible and aims for close coordination and cooperation
with the host surroundings. Not only out of consideration
for the local environment, but also to help ensure trouble-free
access for spectators, Fuji Speedway will adopt for the event
a “ticket and ride” system that combines an admission
ticket with bus transportation.
The number of visitors is expected to be approximately 140,000
on the final (third) day of the event, with a total of 280,000
visitors over the course of the weekend. It is hoped that
holding the event at Fuji Speedway which is located in a rich
natural setting with views of the majestic Mount Fuji, will
help to popularize motor sports among people from a wide range
of backgrounds and will make a contribution to the local community.
