RADIO FORTH BACKS BRITISH TOURING CARS LIVE: EDINBURGH
Edinburgh's biggest radio stations Forth One and FORTH2 have
joined Britain's premier motor racing series, the Dunlop MSA
British Touring Car Championship, for its forthcoming spectacular
road show in the city - British Touring Cars Live: Edinburgh,
on 31 August.
Forth One and FORTH2, with a combined audience of more than
330,000 people across Edinburgh, the Lothians and Borders,
will be bringing listeners all the latest news, plus interviews
with the BTCC's top drivers in the run-up to the unique event
that falls in the final week of the city's world-famous Festivals
period.
Both stations will be offering listeners the chance to win
a range of outstanding prizes put up by some of the leading
BTCC teams. In addition to tuning in locally to Forth One
(on 97.3 FM) and FORTH2 (on 1548 AM), people can listen out
for details of the competitions via the internet on www.forthone.com
and www.FORTH2.com.
And to get started, Forth One and FORTH2 will give away 50
pairs of tickets to Knockhill's big BTCC race day. Another
50 will be up for grabs through the pages of the Evening News,
the city's biggest selling newspaper, which is read daily
by 197,000 people in Edinburgh and the Lothians.
As confirmed last week, the BTCC will arrive in Edinburgh
on 31 August when the cars and drivers will perform spectacular
demonstration runs along Johnston Terrace at the foot of Edinburgh
Castle's rock face. It's all part of the build-up to Scotland's
biggest motor racing event of the year - the BTCC weekend
at the nearby Knockhill circuit in Fife on 2-3 September.
Radio Forth will also be at the event providing a live broadcast
and commentary as well as recording features for its ‘Boogie
in the Morning Breakfast Show' and ‘Yazz at Drivetime'
shows the next day.
BTCC Series Director Alan Gow says: "We're
proud to be able to announce this partnership with Forth One
and 2. The two stations are among the most popular in Scotland
and deliver the very best in radio entertainment for their
listeners. The following they have will help contribute significantly
to what will be a terrific public event in Edinburgh's city
centre."
Forth's Head of Marketing Ross Wilson comments:
"Forth One and FORTH2 are delighted to be involved in
such a high-profile and exciting event. We pride ourselves
on always being at the heart of what's happening in our area.
The event comes at an especially busy time in the city and
we'll take the event to everyone; both visitors to the city
and loyal listeners alike. It promises to be a spectacular
event."
