DENNIS EXTENDS BTCC MEDIA PARTNERSHIP INTO 2006
Leading publishing group Dennis has confirmed it will extend
its media partnership with the Dunlop MSA British Touring
Car Championship into a third year in 2006.
Dennis will build on the exposure it provides the BTCC –
Britain’s biggest motor racing championship –
through the pages and websites of some of the UK’s best-selling
magazines, including its market-leading weekly Auto Express,
top automotive monthlies Evo and Test Drive, and hugely-popular
men’s lifestyle titles Maxim and Men’s Fitness.
These five titles cover the BTCC with regular news updates,
race reports, features, tickets competitions and event advertising.
Combined, their annual readership in the UK comes close to
25 million.
The Auto Express and Evo logos will again appear on all BTCC
cars during the 2006 season, the winners’ podium and
drivers’ interview backdrop – this means exposure
in front of close to 20 million television viewers in the
UK alone, on the nation’s number one commercial terrestrial
channel ITV1.
"The BTCC enjoyed another fabulous season in 2005 and
we’re delighted to extend this partnership," says
Dennis Group Publishing Director Phil Parker. "The racing
is the best anywhere in Britain, the level of television coverage
has stepped up another gear and, when it comes to interacting
with the fans and public, the BTCC is on a different level.
This is vital to any partner and really provides Dennis with
a very high-profile backdrop to promote our products in front
of very attentive, high-density ABC1 crowds.
"In 2006, our coverage of the BTCC will certainly be
increasing and we hope soon to also announce several new ideas
and campaigns based around BTCC race weekends."
Alan Gow, BTCC Series Director adds: "Dennis’s
continued commitment to the BTCC is a great testament to the
championship’s standing as one of the biggest sporting
spectacles in the UK.
"Coverage, particularly on a regular basis, in titles
such as Auto Express, Evo and Maxim is of immense value to
the BTCC and all its participants. Each title enjoys a very
high profile and collectively they enable the BTCC to be read
about by many millions of potential new fans.
"I’m very proud of what is a very strong relationship
and look forward to working with Dennis throughout 2006 as
the BTCC goes from strength to strength."
