DENNIS EXTENDS BTCC PARTNERSHIP INTO 2007
Leading publishing group Dennis has confirmed it will remain
the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship’s official
media partner for a fourth consecutive year in 2007, increasing
its coverage of the BTCC through three of the UK’s best-loved
titles Auto Express, Evo and Maxim.
Combined, the three magazines attract an annual readership
of almost 25 million (as figures below show), while their
websites draw some 40 million unique visitors per year. Through
their pages and on-line the BTCC will receive a mixture of
editorial content including features and regular news reports,
ticket competitions, promotions and event advertising.
Auto Express, which will spearhead Dennis’s coverage
of the BTCC, is by far the nation’s best-selling motoring
weekly, while fellow flagship titles Evo and Maxim remain
among Britain’s most popular monthly automotive and
men’s publications respectively.
Auto Express’s and Evo’s logos will again appear
on the door panels of all BTCC cars, plus the championship’s
podium and television interview backdrops during 2007. Dennis’s
sister publications Men’s Fitness and PC Pro will also
be part of the mix, further exposing the BTCC to an even wider
demographic audience.
The fact that the BTCC’s popularity continued to grow
at a phenomenal rate in 2006 made re-signing with the championship
an easy choice for Dennis. The BTCC’s street events,
when the championship’s cars are demonstrated in major
cities in front of the watching public, added to the appeal.
In 2006, the BTCC’s star drivers were in high-speed
action in front of 12,000 people in Edinburgh city centre,
following similar events in Newcastle and Milton Keynes in
2005.
Phil Parker, Dennis Group Publishing Director says: “We
are delighted to extend our partnership with the BTCC. It
receives absolutely fantastic coverage on television and when
it comes to interacting with the public and our readers is
simply on a different level. That has provided us with a very
high-profile environment in which to promote our products
to a hugely enthusiastic, attentive and loyal ABC1 audience.
“In 2007 our coverage of the championship will be increasing
and we will announce new ideas and campaigns based around
BTCC race weekends as the season progresses.”
Alan Gow, BTCC Series Director adds: “Dennis’s
continued commitment to the BTCC is a great testament to the
championship’s standing as one of the biggest sporting
spectacles in the UK.
“Coverage, particularly on a regular basis, in titles
such as Auto Express, Evo and Maxim is of immense value to
the BTCC and all its participants. Each title enjoys a very
high profile and collectively they enable the BTCC to be read
by many millions of potential new fans.
"I’m very proud of what is a very strong relationship
and look forward to working with Dennis throughout 2007 as
the BTCC continues to go from strength to strength.”
