BOX OFFICE OPENS FOR DAVIS CUP TIE IN EASTBOURNE
The LTA is pleased to announce that tickets for the forthcoming
Davis Cup by BNP Paribas tie between Great Britain and Israel
will go on sale Tuesday 23rd May at 10am
The tie will be held at Devonshire Park in Eastbourne, between
21-23 July with discounts offered to LTA Advantage members,
group bookings, two & three day tickets and half price
tickets for children under 16.
Great Britain currently enjoys a 3-0 winning record against
Israel, with the most recent victory secured in Tel Aviv last
March. The tie saw an impressive debut by Andy Murray and
David Sherwood, who defeated the world top ten Israeli doubles
pairing of Andy Ram and Jonathan Erlich.
The last home tie against Israel in 1985 took place on the
grass of Eastbourne, which included current Davis Cup captain
Jeremy Bates in the team, alongside John Lloyd and Colin Dowdeswell.
The last time the team played in Eastbourne was 11 years ago
and resulted in victory over Monaco.
LTA Tournament Director for the Davis Cup tie Gavin Fletcher
said: “This tie is an exciting opportunity for tennis
fans to get behind their Great Britain team and be part of
the unique Davis Cup atmosphere. I have no doubt that tickets
will sell quickly in what will be a fantastic season of tennis
this summer in Eastbourne.”
