JiR Team Scot head to Assen in a positive frame of mind
As soon as the fans left the British Grand Prix at Donington
Park on Sunday, the JiR Team Scot team also left the United
Kingdom and headed to Holland where, traditionally, the race
will take place this Saturday the 28th June. The Assen circuit,
nicknamed ‘the cathedral of motorcycling’ for
the historical value it represents, hopefully will provide
more good results for Andrea Dovizioso and Yuki Takahashi.
Andrea has recently put in some fine performances with a fourth
and fifth place finish in the last two races, which has consolidated
his position in the championship. Yuki Takahashi meanwhile
wants gain a good result, after producing some good practice
and qualifying form but having suffered bad luck in the last
two races. Both are ready, committed and highly motivated,
supported by the high morale of the team.

that the team is able to compete for the higher positions
in the final standings and I believe that Assen will be the
turning point of the championship for us, as we must constantly
strive to stay on this level. We have a competitive technical
package that Andrea can now exploit to the full at best, but
if necessary he can ride through any difficulties he may have.
In 250cc we lack the results and the podiums that Yuki is
capable of, as the final result has seemed to escape us in
the last few races. Despite this, the team is working well
and I’m sure these results will come and we will get
the satisfaction the team deserves.”

”The Assen circuit has never been among my favourites
and in the last two years with the 250 I took fourth and third
place finishes. The circuit is pretty unique with lots of
high-speed corners and chicanes. I arrive in Holland off the
back of two good performances and I am confident that we can
repeat this with the MotoGP bike. My style has changed radically
from the 250 and for me when you come to a circuit you know
on the 250 it’s like a new track on the RC212V. Also,
so far this season I’ve done well on tracks I’ve
not previously enjoyed on the 250, so that could be positive.
From our place in the standings it’s important for us
to continue this positive trend.”

”In previous years the Grand Prix of Holland has not
been my favourite and the track I do not enjoy very much.
This year I want to have a good race and collect some more
important points. I think I will be able to continue to improve
my performance this year and make continuous progress, even
if there have been no podiums in the last few races. I feel
ready and always have high morale. There are no particularly
difficult points on the track, but it is necessary to have
a good rhythm to deal with the fast sections that alternate
with the slow turns. With the team we will be able to do a
good job, as always.”
