EURO WATER POLO LINE-UP CONFIRMED
The line-up for the 2007 LEN Water Polo European Nations
Trophy in Manchester has been confirmed with the final five
teams making the grade at qualification tournaments over the
last week.
Ireland beat off competition from Switzerland and Austria
in two closely contested matches to qualify for one of the
six remaining spots behind tournament favourites Montenegro.
And in the other groups, Israel, Belgium and Macedonia have
made the grade to confirm their places in Manchester.
The five qualifiers join Great Britain, France, Malta, Ukraine,
Poland, Belarus and Turkey for the one of the largest international
water polo competitions ever held in Britain.
The LEN European Nations Trophy takes place at the Manchester
Aquatics Centre from 8-15 July.
Olympic cycling champion and former water polo player Jason
Queally will be in Manchester on Friday 30 March at 3.45pm
to help with the official draw to determine which countries
the British men's team face in the group round.
