BRITAIN'S WOMEN ARE THROUGH TO SEMIS
Britain's women's water polo squad are through to the semi
finals of the European B Championships in Prague after a hard
fought win against Slovakia in their final group match.
The team beat their Eastern European rivals 7-5 to seal the
top two group finish required to progress to the knockout
stages where they will be playing for a European title and
the chance to qualify for the 2008 European Championships.
Britain will now face Portugal in tomorrow's semi-final and
are just one match away from challenging for the medals.
Having beaten Turkey 27-3 and drawn against pre-tournament
favourites France on their way to the semis, Britain has put
in an impressive performance which it will be looking to build
on in tomorrow's match.
The team's impressive run of form comes less than five months
after the appointment of women's head coach Szilveszter Fekete.
