BRITISH SYNCHRO DEVELOPS COACHING STAFF
British Synchronised Swimming has enhanced their coaching
staff with the appointment of three coaches to work with the
national junior squad.
The coaches, Loredana Montico, Jessica Chase and Kate Coupar
bring a wealth of international experience to the roles. Montico
fills the role as Junior Head Coach, Chase will be Junior
Assistant Coach and Coupar will be second Junior Assistant
Coach.
Montico comes to the role after working as Assistant Coach
for the Italian senior national team for three years. She
also worked as Trainers' Coach at national level for the Italian
Federation and as Head Coach of the Italian Junior National
Team for four years.
The new Junior Head Coach has worked with synchronised swimmers
across all levels from beginner up to Olympic standard athletes
and will be looking to use her experience to push the squad
to success at the European Junior Championships in July.
Former international synchronised swimmer Jessica Chase is
keen to add her experience to the team. She worked as Head
Coach for Puerto Rico at the 2005 World Championships and
has coached athletes from China, Canada and New Zealand.
Former athlete and Reading Royals senior team coach Kate
Coupar assisted Adele Carlsen and Gayle Adamson with the coaching
of the 2006 Commonwealth Duet and the GB Junior Squad. Coupar
also currently works as England Youth and Development Coach.
British Synchronised Swimming National Performance Director
Biz Price is excited by the experience brought by the coaching
staff.
"I am looking to an intensive six week opportunity for
our junior athletes to learn from some of the world's best
coaches," she said.
"This is a chance to discover what enhancements in our
training programmes are necessary to improve our world rankings
in this age group."
The coaches start on 18th June with a six-week training camp
with the Junior Squad.
