SYNCHRONISED SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIPS HIT GLOUCESTER
Some of the best Synchronised swimmers from across the country
will be descending on Gloucester this weekend where the British
Synchronised Swimming Championships and ASA National Age Groups
will take place.
Competition starts on Saturday 2nd December with the National
Age Groups Figures then over the weekend athletes will also
compete in Solo, Duet and Free events.
The Championships see Commonwealth Solo silver medallist
Jenna Randall, of Rushmoor synchronised swimming club, take
to the water in the hope of retaining her 2005 titles.
Randall (18) has had a strong year, competing at the Commonwealth
games, the European Championships and the World Junior Championships.
Former European Junior Championships team member Lauren Smith,
(23) from Rushmoor synchronised swimming club, will be looking
to continue her success from last year's British championship
where she won silver in the solo competition only being beaten
by Jenna to gold.
Also competing in the National Age Groups and the British
Championships will be Rebecca MacEnri, (18) from Portsmouth
Victoria synchronised swimming club, who was selected as part
of the squad that travelled to China in the World Junior Synchronised
Swimming Championships.
Olivia Allison (16), of Rushmoor synchronised swimming club,
finished fourth in the Commonwealth games in 2006. She will
be competing in both the National Age Groups and British Championships
and will be looking to build on her promising form earlier
this year.
The day's events kick off on Saturday morning at 9am, and
the second day of competition also starts at 9am.
