WELSH EDGE CLOSE AFFAIR AGAINST SINGAPORE
The Welsh Dragons edged a tight, exciting men's match against
Singapore on day three of the Commonwealth Water Polo Championships
in Perth after mounting a second half fight back.
Wales trailed 3-2 at halftime but had the lead heading into
the last quarter. They managed to keep Singapore at bay for
a 6-5 victory with Laxton getting a brace for the victors.
Scotland's women met Singapore and lead throughout as the
Northern Hemisphere team won 11-7 after leading 5-2 at halftime.
Greer was Scotland's top scorer with four.
England's Men mounted an impressive challenge against current
champions Canada but just missed out in a 6-5 thriller.
World Championship bronze medallists Canada was pushed all
the way to beat England 11-8 in a crucial women's game.
