MILEY SHINES TO SET NEW BRITISH RECORD
Hannah Miley continues to impress as part of the British
squad competing in Eindhoven this weekend with a British Record
in the Women's 100m Individual Medley.
The Garioch teenager took gold at the Dutch World Championships
Trials (50m) in 4:44.21 to beat the previous standard set
by Becky Cooke earlier this year of 4:44.60. British team
mate Jess Dickons from Stockton was second in 4:56.02.
Liverpool teenager Fran Halsall took third place in the Women's
100m Freestyle in 55.73 with gold going Dutch favourite Marleen
Velduis in 54.25.
Kirsty Balfour (City of Edinburgh) won the Women's 100m Breaststroke
in 1:10.03 while Darren Mew (University of Bath) took gold
in the Men's event in an impressive 1:01.08. He touched ahead
of third-place Chris Cook (City of Newcastle) in 1:02.33 while
Kris Gilchrist (City of Edinburgh) was fourth in 1:03.17.
