YOUNG SWIMMERS ATTEND INAUGURAL EVENT CAMPS
A young generation of swimming talent will receive specialist
coaching next week at one of eight youth event camps taking
place across Europe.
More than 70 swimmers aged 18 and below will attend the inaugural
stroke-specific camps for youth athletes, aimed at improving
the technical aspects of the stroke and exposing swimmers
to British camps in preparation for their development to senior
level.
The camps, which mirror the senior event camps that took
place in May, are led by the youth event coaches and aim to
get swimmers back into the pool and set them up for the start
of the season, as well as helping coaches and staff with their
professional development.
The swimmers attending are some of the best young athletes
in the country and will have impressed the youth event coaches
at meets during the year to secure their selection. A number
of them were identified outside of British Swimming programmes
and will be looking to learn from this weeklong experience.
Camps across all strokes are taking place in Spain, Majorca,
Greece and Hungary from 17-24 September.
