SPANISH MX1 PRACTICE CANCELLED
More
than 24 hours of rainfall over the region of Lleida in Catalunya
forced the practice and qualification schedule of the Grand
Prix of Spain to be cancelled today in the interests of preserving
the terrain.
The second round of the FIM MX1 Motocross World Championship
will now be condensed into one full programme as Sunday morning
warm-up will determine the gate positions for the protagonists
of the premier class.
"It is a shame and of course frustrating to be waiting
around all day," said Team Suzuki's Kevin Strijbos as
his works RM-Z450 lay dormant in the awning.
"I was riding well last week and although we weren't
expecting a mud race here I am keen to get out there. It looks
as though it will be slippery and quite demanding but if the
rain stops then they should be able to get some work done
on the track."
MX1 Timed Practice will take place tomorrow morning starting
at 10am for 40 minutes.
