Riding High on Slopes of Success

The British Snowboard Teams enjoyed amazing successThe British Snowboard Teams enjoyed amazing success and record achievements throughout the season with numerous podium positions gained by the cream of British Snowsport athletes.

World Cup Team

Far from being an easy season with injuries, gruelling travel schedules across five continents and having to share World Cup start sport, this young squad demonstrated true talent and skill and have very bright futures in the Snowsport world. The next two years are going to be a very exciting time with the World Championships in 2009 and the Winter Olympics in 2010.

Development Snowboard Cross

The Development Snowboard Cross Team's season was hampered due to an array of injuries, including tendon and ligament damage, repeating dislocated shoulders and even broken pelvises.

Tim McGregor achieved some very promising results during his first season competing on the British Team. Throughout the Europa Cup tour, the rider gained strong results; however, injury struck again which prevented him from competing at The BRITS. Team member Mick Arrowsmith also showed tremendous dedication throughout the season, training with a dislocated shoulder. Both Matt Higgin and Tamsin Evans were both out for most of the season with injuries. We wish them all a speedy recovery.

Up and coming Boarders

The British Junior Team also brought in some brilliant results throughout a tough season. From the 12 strong team Aimee Fuller, Henry Shackelton and Ollie Jackson all performed to a high standard. Team members Mark Raper and Sam Turnbull were also selected for the World Junior Championships following on from impressive displays of talent and skill.

We look forward to being back with you next season, keeping you up to date about all the teams, key events of the season and some more fantastic results.
