GP OF MALAYSIA - QP1
VALSIR SEEDORF DERBI
RIDER 52: LUKAS PESEK (CZE)
RIDER 18: NICOLAS TEROL (SPA)
Wet
monsoon influences the riders performance at Sepang circuit.
The free practice took place on a dry track and the qualifying
session began just after a torrential storm.
The tyre choice was decisive. There are almost three seconds
between the poleman Pablo Nieto and the second: only a struck
but hazard choice could determine this result. Valsir Seedorf
Derbi rider Lukas Pesek, after the Australian victory, has
been competitive all the practice and got the third today.
Lukas Pesek: (3rd - 2'26.773)
"I like the track and I have a good feeling with the
bike. You can get good lap time on the straights only when
you are in slipstream. At the same time it could be very difficult
to make a solitary race. I think it will be a race like that
of Phillip Island (I hope!)… as long as it doesn’t
rain".
Nicolas Terol: (18th - 2'30.737)
"I made a good free session and in the afternoon I was
between the 8th and 12th position all the practice. I got
the 18th only due to the tyres, too hard in the final part
of the qualifying. The bike is ok and I can get a better result
tomorrow".
