GP OF SHANGHAI - RACE
VALSIR SEEDORF DERBI
RIDER 52: LUKAS PESEK (CZE)
RIDER 18: NICOLAS TEROL (SPA)
GP OF SHANGHAI - RACE
Wonderful
first ever win of Lukas Pesek, born in Prague on 22 November
1985. The Czeck rider remained in the leading group almost
all the race. Pesek came out on top in the final three laps
and built up a lead that prevented unforeseeable ovetaking
on the finishing line. The Czech has got three podiums (3rd
in Qatar, 2nd in Spain) out of four races and now leads a
very closer World Championship: 2 point from Talmacsi and
4 from Faubel.
Derbi comes back on the top spot after 3 years (Qatar 2004).
Lukas Pesek: (1st)
"I’m very happy. It was a perfect week-end. I
want to thank all the persons who placed their confidence
in me, my team that made a great job and Derbi.
To be the winner today is very important for me. In my country
motorcycle sport is not much esteemed: now, with this victory,
I hope something will change. My father put me on a bike when
I was three. The beginning wasn’t very encouraging:
I crashed out and I broke both my arms. But he put his trust
in me and now I’m here. My idol is Capirossi: I began
to ride with the number 65.
It was a difficult but perfect race today: with three laps
to go I tried to get the lead. I managed to make up ground
on the other riders. I made a little mistake in the last meters
but it was a very little mistake and I got the victory. Now
I hope to keep on winning. There are 17 races in the Championship
and you have to enjoy all of them to try to win the Title".
Nicolas Terol: (N.C.)
"I got a bad start and I lost many positions. While
I was trying to move up, during the third lap, Bonsey collided
with me and I couldn’t finish the race.
I hit my back… but luckily without any damage".
