29th Jun - Bellini; taking rowing to excess
Bellini has just endured 225 days of danger. Teetering on
the brink of death numerous times, he recently returned from
an epic rowing voyage that began in Genoa and finished two
and a half months later than planned in Fortaleza, Brazil.
What makes Bellini’s voyage even more incredible is
his tenuous link to the sea.

The 2006 Thomas Keller Medal for an "outstanding career
in rowing" will be awarded to Agostino Abbagnale from
Italy, one of the famous three Italian brothers who reigned
over rowing throughout the 1980’s and 90’s.

has selected Lake Karapiro, New Zealand as the host of the
2010 World Rowing Championships subject to final approval
