Rock-It-Ball Update Nov 05
(1) In-Service Training recently provided to teachers from
Harrogate and got the same reaction we get everywhere!! they
*loved* it. An in-service training document for teachers has
now been prepared. The long term aim of this is that it becomes
a hand book resource for staff.
(2) 'University Challenge' now being organised - three universities
are being lined up to play against the current champions.
A number of schools also wanting fixtures against the champions
(3) Rock-it-ball played with inmates at Northallerton prison
one morning. After seeing it the PE instructor ordered a number
of sets on the spot. Reports came back a couple of days later
from a member of staff that they have never known those lads
so quiet as they were that afternoon after having played Rock-It-Ball.
We have since spoken with the prison service and they would
like to see it propagate from Northallerton to other prisons.
(4) Rock-It-Ball is now moving forward in New Zealand
5) Enquiries have been received from South Africa
(6) we have a celebrity on board for the US who wants to
introduce it into the US and Canada. Licensing interest also
being received from the US
(7) We are currently pricing a set made from a different
material which can be sold in packs of 2 (with goggles and
balls) to be used as a beach or garden game. The current Rock-It
would then be Rock-It-Ball Pro as it is more robust and can
cope with the full blown combat version.
(8) Rock-It-Ball will be exhibiting at the Sports Colleges
Conference, Feb 2-3 2006 in Telford. Organised by the Youth
Sports Trust
(9) Rock-It-Ball is now being implemented in North Yorkshire
schools as directed by the schools sports advisory management
team.
(10) From North Yorkshire word is now starting to spread
and enquiries are coming in from other regions
(11) Corporate Team Building events involving Rock-It-Ball
now available
