HER SEVENTH CONTINENTAL TITLE
The Repsol rider got a crushing victory at the trial in Italy
The Repsol rider Laia Sanz (Montesa-HRC Cota 4RT) won the
second round of the Women`s European Trial Championship today,
Sunday. With this victory the multiple championship winner
has taken a big step towards winning the continental title
for the seventh consecutive year. The rider only needs to
finish at least fourth in the third and final round that will
take place on 16th August in Tanval (Czech Republic), to add
another title to her belt.
Laia Sanz, the Repsol rider, completely dominated the second
round of the Women`s European Trial Championship, as she was
only penaliesd with one point on each lap of a route that
was more difficult than the one that opened the season, and
she had things wrapped up by the end of the first lap.
Moreover the Laia Sanz is also the leader of the World Championship,
a competition that will be decided in September.
Quotes
Laia Sanz
“We rode an a type of terrain that I felt better on
and calmer than when it is too easy since this one let you
make up for any mistakes.
The victories in the first two rounds have put me into a good
position to win the European title again, but I know that
something unexpected can happen and that is why I do not think
that I have an advantage that says it is all over. And what
is more, I will tackle the final round not with the intention
of making sure that I get a result and some points, but determined
to get another triumph”.
