Paul Ricard Testing, Day 3
Final day of testing at Paul Ricard for the Renault
F1 Team.
The French team concluded today its three day testing programme
at Paul Ricard. After two days running on Monaco configuration,
the team worked today on Montreal configuration with a 5,216
km-long track.
Fernando Alonso concentrated on set up changes and then moved
on tyre development in order to evaluate the Michelin tyres
for the next Canadian Grand Prix. The Spaniard completed his
programme this morning with 126 laps covered and then left
the track as the team wanted to preserve him for next race
in Monaco but also for the Renault F1 Roadshow which will
take place in Seville this weekend.
Heikki Kovalainen ran all day and remained focused on tyre
testing as it was the main objective of this session at Paul
Ricard. He covered 121 laps for his final day and set the
second-fastest laptime.
Christian Silk, Chief Test Engineer: "We
only had one day of testing on Montreal configuration but
the results are good and we recorded useful data to continue
working on the preparation of the Canadian GP. Once again,
we can be pleased by the excellent reliability of our engine
on this track which is really demanding".
