Day 2 of testing at Paul Ricard for the Renault F1 Team.

After a short rest following the Australian GP, Giancarlo Fisichella joined the test team yesterday night and carried on today with the testing programme of the team.

At the wheel of the R26 04 chassis, the Italian was able to run his programme without any problem. He remained focused on tyre development with Michelin and chassis set up improvements in order to adapt the behaviour of the R26 to the new envelops,

Heikki Kovalainen has not had a busy day. He only started running in the early afternoon after the team finished preparing his car. Therefore, his programme was a little bit delayed. However, he will go on with his programme tomorrow for the last day of this session.

At the end of this second day of testing, the Renault F1 Team ran 104 laps with Fisichella and Heikki Kovalainen set the third fastest laptime of the day in 1'04.274.

Christian Silk, Chief Test Engineer: "We've had a good day with Fisichella who quickly felt at ease in the car. We were very productive this morning and our programme was mainly focused on chassis set up. During the afternoon, we completed an interesting tyre programme with Michelin which should be important for Imola. Our results of the day were very positive."
