THE TRUTH ABOUT BREAKFAST
NOT EVERYBODY HAS IT – AND IT'S OK.
No you're not weird for not wanting to eat early in the morning.
Majority of people skip breakfast, and it's ok as long as
you're not hungry. Don't eat if your body is not asking for
it. Why stuff it with something it doesn't yet need?
IT HAS TO BE EARNED. Food is our source
of energy. In order to have the need to replenish the energy,
we have to spend it and have the space available for new stuff
to come in. That is natural and healthy.
NOT THE MOST IMPORTANT MEAL OF THE DAY.
Contrary to a popular belief, breakfast is not all that important.
It is simply another meal just like dinner, just like supper
or anything in between whatever you want to call it. Why should
it be considered more important than any other mealtime, when
we eat to get energy, to get fuel to keep going? Do you fill
up your car with more or with different type of gas simply
because it's a particular time of the day?
EAT WHAT YOU WANT. Your breakfast doesn't
have to be anything traditional like eggs, toast and coffee
or anything else that is now trendy to eat in the morning.
Your breakfast can be anything you desire. We're not talking
about eating junk food, of course. Choose anything you desire
from fruits, veggies, poultry, etc.: the good stuff.
EAT ONLY WHEN YOU FEEL HUNGRY. Don't make
yourself miserable by trying to stick to some schedules or
regimes. It is not healthy. What's good for you is to eat
only when you feel hungry. If you're not hungry in the morning,
then you're not hungry in the morning. Eat later, when you're
hungry.
EAT TO SATISFY HUNGER – NOT MORE.
It is often recommended nowadays to eat smaller portions.
Why? Simply because people have a tendency to indulge and
eat too much, so creating smaller portions is probably a good
way to at least start on the right track. Our hunger is often
satisfied way before we stop loading up on food, and the truth
is, if we could stop eating at the right moment, when the
hunger is satisfied, there would be no need for portions,
rules and regulations.
Dr.Romanov's favourite breakfast? A handful of grapes and
a cup of hot tea.
