BASIC PREPARATIONS TO LEARNING THE POSE METHOD
In general all newcomers to the Pose Method have similar
problems. It is lack of perception, lack of general and specific
strength, low level of skill of execution of the major elements
of the Pose Method - pulling the foot from the ground, not
enough elasticity for interacting with support (ground) in
an efficient manner. There is a tremendous confusion about
the easiness or difficulty of learning the Pose Method and
about the simplicity or complexity of its concepts.
Therefore, it is necessary to clarify, at least some basics,
to prepare you theoretically for learning the Pose Method.
First of all, remember that the Pose Method works on major
concepts, such as gravity as a propulsive force, Pose concepts
themselves, forces in movement (running), muscle elasticity,
pull concept versus push concept in conventional running paradigm.
Next, get some knowledge about perception as our capacity
to recognize the difference in our senses of anything that
is involved into our movement: space, time, efforts, pressure,
tension, etc. Among our major perceptions are our body and
body parts position, time of support, pressure on our feet
during support, muscular tension, and timing of changing support
(rhythmical education through some dancing elements of scoring
movement).
It would be a good idea to get some basic knowledge of anatomy
and kinesiology concerning the human body (bones, muscle structure
and composition).
Further, get some basic preparation for the body by using
simple strength exercises such as push ups, abdominal and
back exercises, different kinds of easy jumping. Develop some
strength in your legs by weight lifting and exercising on
machines. There are certain requirements to the development
of hamstrings muscles, as one of major prerequisites of learning
the Pose Method.
After all, prepare your mind to accept your new role as a
student and be ready to go through a learning process, no
matter how unpleasant sometimes it could be. Learning is a
constant process of changing according to the standard, based
on your continuous desire and efforts to find a better way
of performing, your continuous desire to progress. Only in
this way, you can be sure that your goals will be achieved.
