The JK is the largest British Orienteering event and attracts
over 3000 competitors each year, this year it is expected
to have over 3500. This World Ranking event is held over 4
day annually attracting international competitors, to date
competitors from over 20 countries have entered. It is great
news that GB Jamie Stevenson World Orienteering Champion will
be competing at the event and also Sir Chris Bonington CBE
will be competing on the Sunday only.
Individual events take place on the Saturday and Sunday with
the Relay event on the Monday. There are colour coded courses
for newcomers who may not be BOF members on Saturday and Sunday.
The Lake District is one of the greatest places for orienteering
offering technical and varied terrain, making the JK 2004
an extremely attractive event to compete at for all.
