LORENZO SAVADORI WILL MAKE HIS DEBUT IN THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
ON JUNE 1st AT MUGELLO
On
Sunday June 1st, Lorenzo Savadori will participate, as a wild
card in the 125cc class, in the race of the MotoGP World Championship
that will be held at Mugello. For him it will be the absolute
debut in the Continental Circus and he will be the youngest
participant in this important competition.
Lorenzo Savadori obtained this privilege thanks to a great
start of the season in the 2008 Road Racing Italian Championship.
The young boy from Cesena is currently leading the championship
and he won the first race of the season right on the Mugello
track, where he also conquered both the pole position and
the fastest lap during the race.
In the meanwhile, the third round of the Road Racing Italian
Championship will be held on May 25th at Vallelunga. A race
that will allow Lorenzo to prepare himself at the best for
the World Championship race ; an important race as he wants
to take his revenge after he lost the victory at Monza for
only some tenths, and had to “content” himself
with a second position. Lorenzo, with the Aprilia of the RCGM
Team, is very motivated and this weekend he will make his
best to win the race and increase his advantage in the championship.
Lorenzo Savadori: “The goal I have
for my debut in the World Championship is to get some points,
possibly ending the race in the first thirteen riders. I know
it won’t be easy but I want it and know I can make it.
I will surely be a bit nervous to race with the n.1 riders
of the 125cc class but this doesn’t mean I will forget
my goal. I know the Mugello track and having the chance to
ride there with the World Championship riders will certainly
help me to improve some more. Anyway right now I want to think
about the race at Vallelunga. I hope I will immediately make
a good start, I’m really motivated and I will make the
maximum to pass first under the chequered flag”.
The first session of free practice will start at 9am on Friday
May 23rd.
