Phoenix Racing takes on a second Speedcar
Phoenix Racing will have a second car and driver, Klaus
Ludwig, in Indonesia on the 16th and 17th of February. He
will be driving the Alternative Capital Invest (ACI) sponsored
"Legends Car" spearheaded by a different celebrity
driver at each of the 4 Speedcar Series rounds left this season.
The German team will now have countrymen Uwe Alzen and Klaus
Ludwig taking the wheel at the Sentul International Circuit.
Klaus is a famous touring car racing driver with impressive
accolades in his long racing career. He is perhaps most well
remembered for his unprecedented win in the 1979 Le Mans 24
Hours in a Porsche road car, beating faster pure sports car
racing prototypes. Klaus, 59, has come out of retirement in
the past when given the opportunity to drive a high powered
vehicle. Speedcar Series will be no exception.
Phoenix Racing is sponsored by ACI, a distinguished German
real estate development boutique in the UAE. Together, the
team and sponsor throw in added competition to the Speedcar
mix with the "ACI Legends Car". Klaus Ludwig, a
celebrity in his own right, will be the first such driver
in Indonesia for Round 2 of the Grand Racing events organised
by Speedcar Series and featuring GP2 Asia.
"Phoenix Racing is happy to now have 2 cars racing in
Speedcar. The Series is an excellent platform in the Middle
East and Asia for us to meet high calibre partners and sponsors
such as ACI. Having two Speedcars driven by stellar talents
also now gives us a better chance of competing for the Speedcar
Series Champion title" said Dirk Theimann, Phoenix Racing
Team Manager.
Speedcar Series will take to the track at the Sentul International
Circuit for the first official race, where drivers can start
racking up points in order to win the Champion title and millions
of dollars in prize money.
