BABOONS 24h Endurance Day from Mai 9th to Mai 11th 2008 at Tropical Island close to Berlin:

Off-road all around the German Carribean Seas!

Survival training in Germany 2008. 1000 rider against the clock, the tiredness, the technology and against themselves. On a 10-km-long, bottomless sandy piste, across disused airplane bunkers and destroyed runways private drivers and factory or importer racing teams compete for honour, victory and some even for survival at the biggest marathon off-road event in Europe. The mission is: 12 hours non-stop off-road for ATVs and quads and afterwards 24 hours full speed off-road for motorbikes. An unique challenge for the participants and at the same time a spectacular event for the media.

While the majority of the jockeys compete in the so-called sports class, i.e. in teams composed of four riders on four bikes, the prestige class (four drivers with only one bike) is almost exclusively manned by factory or importer teams. Beyond there exists an ironman class for solo motorbike riders, too! The ATVs and quads start alternatively with two, three or four pilots.

At the 24h Endurance Day not only the performance of the drivers on the circuit plays an important role, but also the attending crew in the pitstop. This area is also booked as an exposition area for the participant factory teams and sponsors and is completely illuminated during the night. As well as in the formula-racing sport the prestige-class teams will stand in a “pit lane”. Refuelling, technical check and the ride goes on. Each second is decisive and the spectators and media are present in the middle of the event via infield-sluices.

The spectacular general conditions (the area is situated on the formerly biggest Soviet air force base outside the erstwhile USSR) turn the BABOONS Endurance Day into an off-road event of the superlative. All around the so-called „Cargolifter hall “, the current Tropical Island, a total of about 10.000 rounds are turned by the pilots. With it are, above all, the private drivers - no matter whether quad, ATV or motorbike - the real heroes of the event and can realise their dream with the participation in a professional marathon-race in the middle of Germany.

Three days of live motor sport and party, virtually in the middle of the German South Seas. With attractive and very inexpensive spectator's or fan parcels (incl. entry into the Tropical Island and event shirt) the Endurance Day is the Whitsun event for motor sport fans as well as a great opportunity for a trip to Berlin.
