Wooley takes second win in 2007 CCM Junior Short Track
UK Championship
•
Tom Wooley once again dominated the newly introduced single
make CCM Junior Short Track UK Championship, he rounded off
a perfect day of racing with a win in the double points final,
after having not been headed in any of the heats on route
to the main event. Riding the 230cc CCM Wooley displayed his
clear advantage over the rest of the expanding field and now
heads the overall standings by twelve points after just two
rounds.
• A much improved performance by Alfie Hyde, saw him
convert his opening round fifth place into a much deserved
runners up spot this time out. Hyde who had been ultra fast
at the initial event, suffered several crashes as he fought
to find his pace at Kings Lynn, but using the experience gained
from his first outing Hyde looked much more of a class act.
With a string of consistent rides under his belt, Alfie was
rewarded richly and could just prove a threat to Wooley as
the series progresses.
• All the young riders showed that they are adapting
quickly to this new discipline, with them all enjoying the
opportunity of racing in front of a sizeable crowd at the
well established BMF event. The action behind Wooley was both
close and exciting, with two new riders making their first
visit to the podium after some well fought battles. Lewis
Cornish, who is the Youth British Supermoto Champion, joined
Hyde on the rostrum in third place to confirm his emerging
ability on the oval circuit.
• The next round will take place on Sunday 16th June
at Amman Valley, Ammanford, South Wales.
