Doncaster gets ready to welcome British Minibike series
The
inaugural British 4 Stroke Minibike Championships continues
to march on with the third round of the series at the fantastic
Doncaster Moto Park on Sunday 22nd July marking the mid point
in the 2007 campaign. The MBP crew have once again been busy
at work to create a completely new layout that will produce
some fast and flowing racing at the sand based venue.
The riders are not the only ones who will benefit from the
new track, with the bankings that surround the circuit offering
excellent and uninterrupted views for the spectators who are
sure to enjoy the action as it unfolds. Entry for spectators
is once again free, as new blood is invited to come experience
this fast emerging sport.
Trevor Scott is currently the hot name on the UK minibike
scene, with the highly talented small wheel rider leading
both the 88cc Pro Mini and Open Midsize classes. Scott took
the overall win in these two categories last time out, with
some dominant showings at the Mildenhall round.
Another man making his mark on the series is Tommy Wright,
the youngster is another rider competing in two different
classes. Wright gave Scott a good run for his money in the
Open Midsize races at round two, and took the overall victory
in the Superstock Midsize class.
Other riders looking to continue their form as the championship
shifts to the North of England for the first and only time
on its five stop tour will be Trevor Buckley and James Mac
Ferren. These two guys took the top honors in the remaining
two categories, those being the 50cc Pro Mini and the Open
Minibike classes respectively, at the recent Suffolk meeting.
The status and importance of the championship continues to
grow, with SP Landscapes joining as a series sponsor having
first been involved on a single meeting basis only.
SP Landscapes now sit alongside Marzocchi, through their
official UK representatives Solent UK Ltd, and the famous
American Two Brothers brand as three go ahead companies who
have recognised the potential of this new and exciting championship.
