CCM struggle to find their form at the Silkolene Short Track
UK championship
Having
dominated the previous rounds of the Silkolene Short Track
UKL championship the CCM factory duo of Lee Complin and Andrew
Moore struggled to find the same kind of form at the latest
meeting held during the BMF show at Peterborough.
Both riders went to the penultimate round of the series
with a real chance of wrapping up the title, but came away
empty handed, and now must go to the final round at Kings
Lynn at the end of the month in search of the championship.
Despite fine - dry weather, strangely both Complin and Moore
failed to shine on a circuit that should have suited the ex
speedway stars well. After a mixed afternoon Complin was eventually
the better of the two coming home in a disappointing sixth
place in the final, just one position ahead of his team mate
Moore.
A safe passage through the heat stages of the meeting saw
Complin and Moore take their places in the two semis, which
proved to be a gauge of what was to come as both riders could
only manage third places in their final showing prior to the
main race.
After the strong showings at the previous event expectations
were high, but the familiar sight of a leading pair of CCM
FT35R’s failed to materialise on this occasion, as Complin
and Moore languished in mid pack. Although the CCM pairing
battled hard throughout the sixteen lap showdown, sixth and
seventh places for Complin and Moore respectively, was the
best the Bolton based team could achieve this time out.
Even following this poor result, Complin still remains favourite
to lift the title, with Lee holding a fourteen point advantage
over Pearson going into the last round. Moore has an outside
chance of becoming champion, but could just complete an historic
1 – 2 for the British manufacturer if he can grab the
runners up spot in the series behind his younger team mate.
