Silkolene Short Track UK championship

CCM riders dominate the fourth round of the Silkolene Short Track UK championship

CCM factory riders Lee Complin and Andrew Moore dominated the fourth round of the Silkolene Short Track UK championship held at Mildenhall Stadium last Saturday night, when they brought home their FT35R’s in first and second positions respectively.

With Moore having crashed out of contention at the previous round at Peterborough whilst leading, both riders were under strict instructions to deliver the results that they were obviously capable of this time around.

Neither disappointed as they progressed with ease and growing confidence through the heats having now found the perfect set up for the FT35R, which is still in its infancy in terms of racing at this level.

Complin showed great control and maturity as he followed current championship leader Darren Pearson home in the first semi to secure his place on the front row for the final. Moore went one better in the second semi to take the win from the far more experienced series contender Peter Boast to book his place in the final alongside his younger team mate.

The Grand Final was CCM all the way as Complin got off the line well to lead from the start to the finish, to record his first major win in only his fourth serious outing. Moore was the prefect team mate and tucked in behind Lee to make it a CCM factory 1-2 despite the recently retired elite speedway rider coming under pressure from both Boast and Pearson. The challenge on Moore came in the early laps before the CCM duo stretched their advantage to come home well clear of the rest of the field.

CCM’s Race Team Manager Austin Clews was obviously delighted with the squad’s results. “I think we have shown our true potential today, if we continue like that for the rest of the series we have a real chance of achieving our goal and winning the championship.”

Complin now holds second place in the overall standings, five points behind Pearson, whilst Moore moves up to ninth just behind reigning champion Belli, despite having not competed in the opening two rounds.
