CCM riders dominate at round six of the Silkolene Short Track UK championship

CCM riders dominate at round six of the Silkolene Short Track UK championshipCCM factory riders Andrew Moore and Lee Complin finished first and second respectively at the latest round of the Silkolene Short Track UK Championship held at Newport, Wales last Sunday. This was the second time this season that the hard charging CCM duo have recorded a 1-2, confirming the growing strength of the Bolton based factory team.

Complin’s second place at the Welsh venue allowed him to move to the head of the overall championship standings with just four rounds remaining, as previous series leader Darren Pearson failed to finish in the top six. Moore also continues his climb up the championship table and currently sits in fifth spot just five points behind reigning champion Marco Belli, despite having not competed in the opening two rounds of the series.

Moore was faultless on his route to the first semi final, winning all his heat races before transferring to the grand final as the only unbeaten rider. Championship contender Peter Boast followed Moore home in semi number one, with CCM team rider Richard May also booking his place in the main event as the last qualifier.

Complin recorded a heat win before booking his place in the grand final as he kept championship rival Pearson at bay, with another convincing victory in the second semi. The last race of the day was a CCM showpiece as Moore and Complin once again confirmed their superiority. Moore led from start to finish, whilst Complin showed great maturity by taking a safe second to help his title campaign, realising his team mate was the fastest man on the day.

CCM’s Race Team Manager Austin Clews confirmed the team’s delight following their latest success. “It was important for us to bounce back strongly after the slightly disappointing showing at the last round. Andrew’s and Lee’s response was fantastic and has produced the results they both deserve. Both riders are now in a good position as we go into the final part of the championship.”
