MAXIMUM SOLUTIONS BRITISH MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIPS

The British Fourstroke/Ray Hockey Racing under 21/ Maximum Sidecars
Sunday 7th August - Cleobury Mortimer

The British MMX Championship Fourstroke series is certainly proving to be a tough series. With Brad Anderson (O'Neal Yamaha), Wayne Smith (Innovate Honda), Mark Jones (EA/Dirtbike Store KTM), Glen Phillips (O'Neal Yamaha), Alex Rach (Innovate Honda) and David Campbell head into the sixth round of the series battling for the lead. Reigning champion Campbell has some ground to make up as the leading five move away in the points standings. Less than forty points cover the top five and the season so far has seen a mixed array of winners and results, as they head into the sixth round of eight the title is still all to play for.

The Ray Hockey Racing Under 21 series is being dominated by future British Motocross superstar Tommy Searl (Molson Kawasaki). Tommy has won most of the races in this series and the young rider who is fresh from his three European Championship wins last weekend will be looking for another double race win in this series. Lewis Gregory and John May are chasing Searl at the top, the Suzuki Maximum Solutions riders lie second and third in the series and race wins in their sponsors back yard is what they need to boost their charge for the top. Dan Johnston (Poole Racing Yamaha) lies in fourth place chased by Jim Murro (Sandiford Honda) another rider fresh from the European championship podium.

The Maximum Solutions sidecar series sees Stuart Brown and Jason Peters leading the series but International competition from Conny and Jo Strandborg from Sweden and from Holland Thij and Roy Dirks should push them hard. Home competition will come from Scott Wilkinson and Gary Burt and the 'totally mad' Watson brothers from Cumbria, the young team still under 20 continues to get the occasional result mingled with explosive crashes. Maximum Solutions boss Stuart Lines and Mike Stones currently hold third place and will be the local team to support.

Timed qualification starts at 9.30am and racing at 12.30pm at Hungry Hill farm Cleobury Mortimer, the event is promoted by the Oxford Ixion and Chalgrove clubs for information contact 07850 598886

Cleobury Mortimer can be found on the A4117 near Kidderminster
