day test beginning today. Lewis took to the wheel of the MP4-22
as the team started to work through a preparatory programme
for the upcoming Italian Grand Prix. The test focused on the
low downforce configuration that will be used for the race
on the high speed Monza circuit, alongside various aerodynamic
upgrades. Some tyre evaluation also took place, with the track
traditionally tough on durability. Lewis’s programme
during the morning session was temporarily interrupted with
a CV joint failure, however he returned to the track soon
after. A shower towards the end of the day saw the team switch
to wet Bridgestone Potenzas, prior to the session being ended
prematurely due to the rain.
Driver for Day Two: Lewis in the morning, with Fernando taking
over driving duties from lunchtime.
Duration of Test: Three days (Tuesday 28th - Thursday 30th
