NWLMRA April 2005 e-Newsletter

Lawn Mower RacingWelcome to April’s eNewsletter. The opening event of the new season is approaching quickly, with only a handful of days left before the official test session on April 9th/10th

2005 Annual and General Meeting
The 2005 Annual and General Meeting was held on 12th March at Eddie Randall’s House in Manchester. Amongst the hot topics were the finalisation of the new engine limits, and the new committee members

The engine limits of 360cc OHV and 410cc Side Valve were modified slightly to become 370cc OHV and 410cc Side Valve. These have now been agreed and will be entered into the 2005 rulebook

Other engine related changes included approving the use of fuel pumps. Any electrical fuel pumps must now be wired into the cut-out switch. Fuel Taps are also to be fitted to any machine which has a remote Fuel Tank. Whilst talking about Fuel Tanks, it was decided that any machine using a remote Fuel Tank must choose a sensible mounting position (i.e. Not in front of the engine, or behind the driver). Engines may now be rotated around their original crankshaft position to ease fitting where required

Eddie Randall (Chairman) and Lol Hatton (Treasurer) both stepped down after many years of service to the NWLMRA. These two gentlemen were both involved in the formation of the original club, and have worked tirelessly to promote Lawn Mower Racing for much of this time. Their replacements will be T Askew (Chairperson), and Daz Whitehead (Treasurer)

In order to celebrate all the founder members of the NWLMRA, it was decided to hold a Testimonial Race Meeting. This will replace the North-V-South event from last year. The format of this meeting will be decided at a later date. A Race Calendar was also drawn up, and can be viewed on the following page
