Race 2 – North-V-South Challenge, Little Morton, Nr.
Retford, Notts
The inaugural North-V-South Challenge will be held this weekend
in Little Morton, Nr Retford. Members of both the BLMRA and
the NWLMRA will be taking to the track to defend the honour
and reputation of their clubs as they seek to find the fastest
Lawn Mower Racing Association in the UK. More details can

Rules & Format
Location
Little Morton, Retford, Notts. Around 1 mile from A1 with
plenty of space for camping
Teams
To be made up of 2-4 drivers and 2 mowers from any class,
(either from the same class or a mix of classes)
Handicapping System
A handicapping system will be in place for the sprint and
endurance races the system will be based upon group 2 machines
being slower than other classes. The system may be adjusted
as necessary to prove fair.
Races
All Races will include a mix of all classes of mower, no separating
the races by class
Sprint Races
A series of 10 lap races on a short circuit
10 points will be awarded for a win, down to 1 point for a
finish
Both machines from each team will race, but not in the same
heat
Heats are to be drawn at random
Final team score is the total points awarded to both machines
Relay Race
A series of 10 lap races on the short circuit with a driver
change each lap
Points are awarded as above
Drag Racing
This event will be carried out on a league basis, with each
team racing each other team once
Teams can choose which machine and driver they wish to use
for each run
First across the line is declared winner and awarded 2 points,
second place is awarded 1 point
2hr Endurance
Group 2 machines will be awarded an extra 10 laps, and group
2 wheels, an extra 5 laps by way of handicap.
Scores are based on the total number of laps completed by
both machines (after handicaps), with 20 points awarded for
first place, down to 1 point for 20th position. As before,
team members can drive either machine as and when required
The North V South Challenge will be decided by the
total score of the three highest scoring teams from each club

17:00 Finish with an all-in 'non-points' race (not compulsory)

10:00 - 11:00 Scrutineering (as necessary)
11:00 - 11:45 Practice (on Endurance Track)
11:45 - 12:45 Break for Lunch
12:45 - 13:00 Drivers Briefing
13:00 - 15:00 Endurance Race
15:00 - 15:45 Pack up and load up
15:45 - 16:00 Prize Giving
