NWLMRA March 2004 e-Newsletter
Welcome to March’s e-Newsletter. We had a good turnout
of both new and existing members to a productive Annual &
General Meeting on Saturday 28th February. During the meeting,
several points were raised and agreed. Full details can be
found under NWLMRA News. One of the main issues was the search
for a new Club Secretary and, as a result of this, Dave Askew
will take over from Nigel Sands with immediate effect. We
have also produced a provisional Race Calendar for 2004 and
this is shown below

Dave Askew is our new Club Secretary and has joined the NWLMRA
Committee. He has replaced Nigel Sands who has been in this
roll for about 10 years. On behalf of everyone who has raced
in the NWLMRA over the last decade, I would like to say ‘Thank
You’ to Nigel for all his efforts and time. At the same
time, I would like to welcome Dave and wish him the very best
for his future on our Committee
Their were some minor rule changes approved at the meeting,
which included agreeing to the upper limit of 6hp (manufacturer's
rating) for tuned engines on Group 2 machines. We also agreed
a revised Points Scoring System with 10 points for 1st, 9
points for 2nd, down to 1 point for 10th and lower. We will
keep the rule of 1pt being awarded for failing to finish a
race
We have also allowed Honda engines as an alternative to Tecumseh
and Briggs & Stratton engines in Groups 3 & 4. After
market con-rods can be fitted to the Tecumseh engines. Competitors
using a Honda engine should note that they will be racing
directly against Tecumseh engined mowers, and that we will
not be introducing a separate sub-class
