HAMPSTEAD EARLY PACE-SETTERS IN SOUTH
HAMPSTEAD wasted little time in their pursuit of honours
with an impressive victory on the opening Saturday of the
Men's South of England League Premiership season.
The Crowthorne Road outfit turned on the style in a 23-13
home victory against Bath, the perfect tonic as they try and
defend the league and Flags titles they won so memorably last
term.
Hillcroft also had a good start to the domestic season with
a 13-7 triumph at home to Spencer, while Penarth pipped Walcountian
Blues, 11-10 away from home.
Reading defeated East Grinstead 6-1 in a friendly encounter,
while in the Men's South of England West Division, Bath University
went top after a 14-7 win over UWIC.
Swansea Hawks registered their first win, beating Southampton
University 7-6.
