ENGLAND SHINE AGAINST SCOTLAND

ENGLAND's women started the defence of their Home Internationals crown in fine fashion with a comfortable 12-3 victory over Scotland today (Friday).

The national side led 7-3 at half-time and scored five goals without reply after the interval with Sarah Butt, Felicity Hermson, Sophie Gapper, Katy Bennett and Suzy Eul all on the scoresheet with doubles.

Wales defeated England B 7-2 in their opening match at the Monmouth School for Girls, while Japan opened their account with a 12-3 victory, also over England B, having led 7-3 at the halfway stage to inflict the home nation's second defeat of the day.

England team: L McCosh, A Harle (co-capt), F Hermson, R Kirchheimer, S Butt (co-capt), K Bennett, A Smith, S Eul, S Gapper, E Garnier, E Garvey, J Hunt, S Kirchheimer, L Leppard, L Lynch, R Shetty. Head coach: L Richardson.
