KTM plans entry into legendary Pont du Vaux Europe's biggest
and toughest ATV event.
KTM,
the company that is always "Ready to Race" and the
world leader in the production of sports motorcycles is planning
to enter the 2008 edition of the legendary Pont du Vaux, Europe's
biggest and toughest ATV event that covers 12 hours of gruelling
competition.
The race represents the most challenging competition of its
kind and is a must for enthusiasts of ATV racing. Encompassing
three Le Mans-type starts divided over the 12-hour race spread
over 48 hours, the Pont du Vaux offers unmatched thrills and
competition for no less than 120 four-wheeler sports machines.
The competition, on August 22-24 in France, will see KTM ATVs,
newly released in Europe this season compete for the first
time in European top racing conditions.
With the introduction of the XC models earlier this year,
KTM has revolutionized the ATV industry by offering 2 ready
to race sport quads, which are as standard models already
equipped with top of the line components with more power and
less weight than anything available in this segment. Just
recently KTM went even further and introduced the all new
SX model line, 2 sport quads (450 SX and 505 SX) that were
specifically designed for the motocross fanatic.
"Theoretically we must be on top of the podium at the
end of the race. We have the best riders and we have the perfect
vehicle for such a challenging 12 hour race," KTM's international
ATV Product Manager Georg Winkler says.
Top riders for top KTM machines Already a hit in the USA and
a proven winner with ATV racing legend Tim Farr at the helm,
the KTM 525 XC will now demonstrate its capacity to fulfil
the company slogan on European soil. Ready to race.
Farr has already broken the ice at the Erzberg Rodeo this
June, registering a result on his KTM ATV that stunned the
organizers and raised the eyebrows of all those attending.
The KTM factory rider and 13-times ATV Pro Champion placed
second in the Erzberg Iron Road Prologue, some 60 places better
than any other ATV had achieved in earlier editions of the
Erzberg Rodeo.
At the Pont du Vaux race Tim Farr will be supported by his
well known and prominent GNCC team racers Taylor Kiser and
Adam McGill, both of which have already proven during this
racing season that they know very well what it takes to be
fast.
