MX1 Factory rider Jonathan Barragan in top form
Spanish
professional rider Jonathan Barragan has underlined his current
top form in a very impressive way with his recent Grand Prix
victory for the season.
Riding his Factory 450 SX-F, Barragan is currently fifth in
the MX1 championship standings. With his undisputed riding
talent, consistency and self confidence he has become a regular
on the hard fought world championship podium In the 2008 season.
As well as proving he can win in the MX top bike class, the
23-year-old Silver Action Team rider has brilliantly demonstrated
his skills with a victory at home the MX3 class in Murcia,
where he was a guest starter.
Barragan himself sees clear grounds for his impressive racing
success in the current season. "Currently things couldn't
be better for me and my team. I feel extremely encouraged
by the present situation, our team is working together really
well and at the same time I can count on the full support
of the factory team. Because all the factory riders are using
the same material and are working with the same chassis and
engine technicians and that allows me and the other factory
riders to concentrate on our racing," Barragan said after
his GP victory last weekend in South Africa.
KTM Offroad Motor Sports boss Pit Beirer is also satisfied
with the current situation and confirmed the philosophy behind
KTM's activity with the MX factory teams. "After our
sensationally successful racing weekend with the overall win
in both classes, we can only congratulate everyone concerned.
I am especially happy with the great progress in the MX1 class
and in particular Jonathan's development in the Silver Action
Team. This means our plan to give him the right environment
and our full support so that he can show his full potential
is really working. Jonathan is having his strongest GP season
yet and we are all convinced that things couldn't be better
for KTM with him, Max Nagl and their MX2 team-mates Tyla,
Tommy and Rui," Beirer said.
