British Korfball Association Senior Inter-Area Competition
The British Korfball Association Inter-Area competition was
held in Milton Keynes on Saturday 11th March, with nine Areas
competing for the chance to play in the Inter-Area finals
day on 21st May.
Central England, last year's champions, were strong contenders,
and met teams from Norfolk, South West and Scotland in their
pool. The other pool consisted of teams representing London,
Kent, Oxon, Wales, Scotland and the British Students.
Match results were as follows.
Kent 4 - 6 Oxon
London 6 -4 BSKS
Scotland 5 - 8 Central
Kent 3 - 5 Wales
Oxon 1 - 7 London
Norfolk 8 - 3 South West
BSKS 4 - 3 Kent
Wales 4 - 4 Oxon
South West 4 - 9 Central
Norfolk 4 - 4 Scotland
Oxon 2 - 4 BSKS
Wales 4 - 9 London
Scotland 3 - 4 South West
Central 7 - 5 Norfolk
London 10 - 0 Kent
BSKS 7 - 4 Wales
These results meant that London won their pool and played
off against Norfolk, going on to win 4-1 and securing their
place in the final. Central topped their pool and went onto
meet the BSKS in their play off. After a close and hard fought
match, Central won 5-3 to secure the chance to retain their
title.
Inter-area finals take place on Sunday 21st May at St Mary’s
College, Twickenham.
