Surrey win Korfball County Championships
Surrey have won the 2006 British Korfball Association County
Championships, held at Easton College, Norfolk, over the weekend
of July 29th-30th.
Surrey, last year’s runners-up featuring players from
National League sides Croydon, Bec and North Downs, took the
title away from 2005 winners Nottinghamshire, by winning the
crunch match between the sides 6-3. In the key match of the
tournament, Surrey took a 2-0 lead and were then pegged back
to 2-2, before re-establishing the lead and then never looking
back.
South London took the bronze medals, while Cambridgeshire
won the plate competition.
