British Korfball Association Cup Round 1 results
The first round of the BKA Cup was completed on 6th November,
and the full results from those games, and the 23rd October
matches are listed below. The first round was played in pools
of three teams, and the winners of each pool will now advance
to the second round where the remaining Premier Division teams
enter the competition. The two Premier Division teams competing
in the first round, Nottingham and Bec, both progressed as
expected, but four National League Division 1 teams –
Cambridge, Manchester, Supernova and Kingfisher, were all
eliminated by the reserve teams of Premier Division sides.
The closest pool took place in Exeter, where Cambridge and
Invicta 2 (from Kent) both defeated the home team, albeit
Invicta only squeezing through by one goal, but when the teams
faced each other, it took a penalty shoot-out to separate
them after a 9-9 draw.
