An excellent days competition took place on Saturday 26th November, with the young sides of Kingfisher and Littleport Lions opening proceedings with Littleport playing well to win the first match 6-3.

Kwiek then played a very good match against Cambridge with Cambridge edging the Kent side out 8-7.

Bearsted started their first match with an emphatic win against Littleport Lions 15-2.

Kwiek then registered their first win with a 10-4 win against Kingfisher

With the best match of the day, Bearsted v Cambridge, end to end stuff with again Cambridge edging the match 8-7 in an entertaining, exciting and very well played match.

Lions found the Kwiek team just too strong with an 11-2 loss to Kwiek.

Cambridge struggled in the first 10 minutes against an stubborn Kingfisher side, but ran out winners 9-2.

Old rivals Kwiek and Bearsted looked set for another epic clash, but the Maidstone side had the clear advantage throughout and were worthy winners 4-11 to end Kwiek's chances of reaching the final.

Cambridge made sure of their place in the final with an emphatic 18-3 win over Lions.

Kingfisher, difficult as ever put up very good resistance to Bearsted in the opening part of the game, but Bearsted got into a good rhythm to run out winners 10-3.

The young teams of Lions and Kingfisher did exceptionally well. Many of their young players coming up from the Under 13 age group from last year. They competed extremely well, never gave up and will be forces to reckon with next year.

Kwiek just couldn't get away from Cambridge in the first match after getting off to a good start and this was a crucial factor in their 3rd placing.

Cambridge who came first at the tournament, move through to the finals against Bearsted and these two teams, who last year played a super final, going to golden goals, look set to provide another exciting clash.

Lead Referee Graham Crafter provided very good support to the Cambridge Referees, Hugh, Dave, Scott and Reda who all had a very good day.

Liv Armitage and Dr Ian Birch-Machin along with Lucy Northfield ran the desk and the organisation of Reda was first class.

A very good day's korfball, some very exciting matches. Thanks to CKA for a very good day.
