Successful practice for Finnegan but problems for Klaffi
and Parzer.
The Alpha Boilers Racing team had mixed results during Tuesday
night practice at the Isle of Man TT in preparation for the
TT Centenary races.
Martin Finnegan had a good run out in fine weather conditions
on his Superbike and Supersport machines. “The Superbike
feels really good,” he said, “I went out for one
lap and came back in to make some adjustments and then went
back out. I was fifth fastest overall and the problems we
had at the North West all seem to have been solved. The conditions
were prefect last night, on my very last lap there was a little
bit of rain but it was ok.”
Finnegan also put in one lap on the smaller machine. He said,
“The 600 is pretty well set up so I’m not spending
much time on it but I’m planning on taking all my bikes
out again tonight. I just hope the good weather stays for
practice.”
His sidecar team-mates didn’t have such a good night
with a technical problem leaving them stranded at the Sulby
Straight for the entire session. “When we started I
knew in the first few moments that there was something wrong,”
said Klaffenbock, “We had a leak from the fuel pipe
and it was landing on the exhaust. I was worried that the
sidecar would catch on fire.”
Klaffi pulled in on the first lap on the Sulby Straight where
some local people helped him repair the sidecar but is was
not possible to continue at a competitive speed so they had
to wait until the end of the practice and ride back to the
pits.
Please note: Due to the weather conditions practice session
was cancelled on Wednesday May 30th
