Martin Finnegan took fourth place in the Bennetts Superbike
TT race on Monday June 4th.
Finnegan
was a little disappointed with his result saying, “I’d
have liked to have been a couple of places further up but
the bike was working really well and the lads did a good pit
stop. I just took it a little bit easy on the first lap with
the damp patches so hopefully tomorrow we can make up for
it.”
The weather before race day was wet and it took the track
a long time to dry out leaving random damp patches which could
have easily caught the riders out. “It was greasy on
the first lap under the trees so it was hard to know how hard
to push, others just pushed a little bit harder,” explained
Finnegan, “They are giving good weather for the rest
of the week which is something, it would be good to get proper
dry racing.”
The
Superbikes are back in action on Friday 8th June in the PokerStars
Senior TT, Finnegan isn’t planning any changes to his
machine as it is working well, “I’m happy with
the bike how it is, maybe one or two small changes but nothing
major it is working good,” he concluded.
